Gift posy

Hello! I hope everyone had a fantastic Christmas despite the weather on the Gold Coast.
I don't mind the rain (I actually like the rain) but not 10 days in a row! :-S
It's amazing how much it can rain. Where do all the rain clouds come from??

gift flowers, sugar bee flowers
Anyway, I wanted to share with you this pic of the gift posy I have done few months ago, and it's my wallpaper at the moment.
This is one of my absolute favorite.
The contrast of colours is perfect, there's lots of texture and the shape is uneven - which appeals to me a lot. :)
*sigh* I love flowers.

White & black wedding

White wedding bouquet: Gold Coast
Here are the photos from the weddings I did this weekend.

The flowers was for a wedding at Crown Plaza Surfers Paradise.
This bride had the wedding theme - "black and white".
We decided to use white flowers with black ribbon, which the flowers turned out very elegant.
I think this is one of my favourite bouquet I have made.
It's simple and elegant, while keeping the natural feel by having it slightly unstructured. :)

rose buttonholes and corsages
Buttonholes and corsages looking very sophisticated by having the black ribbons around the stem.

White bouquet with rose, David Austin roses and carnation

Bouquets had roses, carnation and David Austin roses bound with black ribbon and the Bride's bouquet had the criss-cross thin white ribbon, which added a unique touch to the bouquet.

Best wishes for the bride and the groom!!

Cream & yellow bouquet

I made a bouquet for a photo shoot today. I went for cream and yellow.
Although I wanted to use dark cream with silvery foliage, the foliage weren't available due to all the rain and storm we had a few weeks ago. It killed all the nice flowers and foliage. :(
Normally, flowers come out when they are supposed to, but when so many flowers & foliage become unavailable due to weather, you start to really appreciate the grower and the mother nature nurturing plants to be used for all the special occasions in life.
At the same time, I feel really sorry for the brides who could not get their first choice of flowers..

The photographer's (KG photography) photos are not yet ready, but here is a photo I took myself.

Antique photos!

With a growing love to antique photos (especially ones that are light and bright, subtly colourful with a little bit of blue tinge in it.. if you know what I'm talking about. haha),

I couldn't resist but to buy an iPhone app for taking "antique", "analog" photos!

David Austins

David Austins are coming soon!
David Austins
David Austins are one of my favourite flowers - they are so pretty and have a very sweet scent!
They are a little weaker compared with the normal modern roses.. but they are sooo lovely to have in your bouquet.
To use in your bouquet, I would add in other flowers and greenery - that way, it will emphasizes the roundness and frilly-ness of the David Austin roses.

Gold Coast Magazine - mentioned by the bride

In the current issue of the Gold Coast Magazine, Sugar Bee Flowers was mentioned by a bride. :)
I couldn't get my scanner to work properly.. so here's half of that article!

What the bride said in the magazine:
Youki from SugarBee Flowers did the most beautiful bouquets. i asked for flowers in deep red and pink tones for me, and white for the bridesmaids, not too stiff but a slightly messy look and Youki widely exceeded my hopes and expectations! They were absolutely gorgeous, and I actually cried a little when she delivered them.

You can get the magazine at any good newsagencies.

Bride (and family) feedback!

Gold Coast wedding

A family of the bride sent me some photos of the wedding I did on Sunday, and it was soooo beautiful.
The bouquet was cream, soft pink and medium pink hand-tied round bouquet with some green berries and vines.

Girly pink bouquet

Mmmmmmm, so girly. :) It was a really really cute bouquet.
And the flowers look so good in the sunlight.

Here is a part of the very lovely comment she sent me-
"You did a GREAT job yesterday. The hair circlet was everyone's favourite, even my mum liked it. Haha. Thank you so much!!"  -Asuka, sister of groom

Thanks for the photos and congratulations!!!
